HARDWOOD FLOOR CAMPAIGN
|SLCA has established a solid foundation in harmony with the cultural traditions of our heritage. We are ready to begin something big, something exceptional; not just a single choir, but an organization that provides world-class instruction and performance to everyone – skilled or amateur – a place for all beliefs, politics, and persuasions. We reach out to educate children, youth, and adults, bringing refinement and beauty, purpose and culture to our community and beyond.
Here, music is created. Learning takes place. The groundwork for an international choral festival is shaped. Recognized as a Choral Center, musicians from our midst and world-wide come to share their creation and talents, to hone their skills, and to mentor students, adding to the culturally rich traditions of our community.
The Wasatch Tango Club holds a monthly Milonga downstairs at the Garbett Center for Choral Music. Leaders of the group have generously raised substantial funds for new hardwood flooring upstairs in the larger recital room. This will help Salt Lake Choral Artists to replace the old carpet (with its gaps and tears) with a new hardwood floor. The result will be an improved recital/rehearsal/recording space and a much larger dance floor for Tango and other community groups.
Salt Lake Scandinavian Music & Dance holds weekly classes and other events at the Garbett Center. They have also donated generously toward this project.
Wasatch Contras recently approved a sizable donation in addition to encouraging their members to individually support the project. They have requested a long-term lease of space in the Garbett Center after the hardwood floor is installed.
Contributions for this purpose will be held in trust until we raise enough to fund the whole project. Our goal is to complete it by June 30, 2017. We invite your generous tax-deductible contribution today! Salt Lake Choral Artists is a registered 501(c)(3) charity.
